spring clean-up
Many thanks to all who came out Saturday,
June 2, to help with the dog run work day despite the weather forecast.
Thanks also to Debbie and Kimberly from Riverside Park Fund and the
Sierra Club volunteers.
We
will be installing silt fencing and do additional mulching in coming
weeks.
Please email us if you'd like to
help.

new
off-leash rules
On May 10, 2007, the New York City Parks Department launched a
newly clarified Off-Leash Policy formalizing off-leash privileges in
designated areas from 9 p.m. until parks close, and from opening until 9
a.m. (Of course, well-socialized, healthy, licensed dogs are welcome in
dog runs at all times when parks are open.) Many thanks to all of you who signed, sent letters, and otherwise
supported the recent campaign to defeat a challenge to this
long-standing though previously unwritten policy, which is good for
people and for dogs and for public health and safety.

Get involved with your dog run!
We are looking for people to keep on top of
ongoing maintenance, organize events, refill the doggy doo bag
dispensers, keep the bulletin board up to date, and raise money for
ongoing upkeep and improvements. Committees are now forming for
maintenance of the run, caring for the hedges and other flora around the
run, behavior and safety, events, fund raising, and signs.

Even if you just have a little bit of time, it will help.
